Event Description
A diamondback coronary orbital atherectomy device (oad) was selected for treatment of the right coronary artery, which was 85% stenosed and severely calcified. The oad was operated on low speed and contrast was not injected in-between passes to visualize the vessel. The crown jumped forward initially and a perforation was later identified following the third treatment pass.An ekg change was observed, and the patient became hypotensive.Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was administered and two stents were placed to resolve the perforation. The patient stabilized and was discharged the following day.It was unknown during which treatment pass the perforation occurred.
