Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for gastrointestinal/pelvic floor. It was reported that three years ago, when the patient was at physical therapy, the therapist used sonogram treatment on their leg (same side as implant), and as soon as the therapy started, they experienced shocking through their leg up to the device. The therapist stopped the treatment right away and the shocking stopped. The patient stated the therapist reviewed information and noticed the patient was not supposed to get that treatment because of the implant.
