Per the manufacturer's subsidiary, the k+ slope was seen during ecmo use, meaning that the bpm needed to recalibrate more than once.There was no damage to the bpm head.

Event Description
|
It was reported the during use of the device for cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb), the blood parameter monitor (bpm) potassium (k+) reading was incorrect.The bpm was recalibrated but the issue remained.The surgical procedure was completed successfully.There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.Per clinical review: on (b)(6) 2022, the team at the user facility experienced a problem with their bpm during an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ecmo) procedure whereby the k+ was reading incorrectly, and recalibration did not correct the issue.There was no change-out, no delay, no blood loss, and the procedure was completed successfully.
