A journal article was reviewed that contained information regarding implantable cardiac monitoring for atrial fibrillation (af) after cryptogenic stroke.The article reports one patient who experienced a superficial infection and required an explant, antibiotics, and delayed re-implantation of the implantable cardiac monitor (icm).There was another patient who had a minor bleeding event which was managed conservatively and settled less than 24 hours later.The status/disposition of the devices is unknown no further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
