It was reported that the right ventricular (rv) lead exhibited high thresholds and high impedance. It was also reported that the rv lead threshold and impedance measurements exhibited high levels of volatility. It was further noted that the impedance levels have been gradually increasing. It was further reported that the physician believed that high impedances might have been caused by disconnection, tissue changes at the tip and that in the case of the pacemaker it might have been due to the dry area around the pocket. Both the implantable pulse generator (ipg) and rv lead remain in use. no patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
