Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient with an implanted neurostimulator (ins) for gastric stimulation. They indicated that they had open heart surgery in (b)(6) and did not turn the therapy off for that. They reported that since then they have been in and out of the hospital due to fluid building in stomach and right lung. They drain the fluid, but it keeps building up.They noted that they are very nauseated, but no diarrhea or vomiting, and one side of their belly is huge from the fluid. They stated that they have done other imaging such as ct scans, x-rays, and other tests and cannot find the reason for it.They want them to have an mri, so mri compatibility was reviewed with the patient. They wanted to know if this could be caused by their implanted system. The patient was redirected to their healthcare provider to further address the issue.
