Event Description
|
Medtronic received information that during the implant of this 22mm aortic mechanical valve, it was explanted and replaced with a mechanical valve of the same model. The reason for the replacement was reported as the "bayonet card" was not tight to the handle and the position of the valve orifice and the angle of the leaflet pivot could not be rotated effectively to adapt to the angle of direction of blood flow.It was reported that blood flow was blocked, therefore, the valve was explanted. No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
