It was reported that after a hip procedure, the surgeon noted on an x-ray that the screw had gone through the screw hole of the cup.At this time, the patient is not experiencing any harm and the surgeon does not plan to do any replacements.Attempts have been made and additional information on the reported event is unavailable at this time.

This follow-up report is being submitted to relay additional information.Radiographs were provided and reviewed by a health care professional.Review of the available records identified the following: anatomic alignment of the right hip arthroplasty.One of the acetabular fixation screws extends entirely through the screw hole into the acetabulum.Osteopenia.Review of the device history records identified no deviations or anomalies during manufacturing.A definitive root cause cannot be determined.If any further information is found which would change or alter any conclusions or information, a supplemental will be filed accordingly.Zimmer biomet will continue to monitor for trends.
