Event Description
|
It was reported to philips that the device takes too long to get started.There was no reported patient involvement.The efficia dfm100 defibrillator, model# 866199, is substantially similar to the heartstart xl+ defibrillator (model # 861290) and will be reported in the united states under device model # 861290.

This report is based on information provided by philips field service personnel and has been investigated by the philips complaint handling team.Philips received a complaint on the dfm100 indicating that device took too long to get started or passing op check.An evaluation was performed by the bench technician and the reported issue was confirmed.Bench technician states that device took no more than one minute to start up.There is no standrd time for device regular strt up in the instruction for use.After confirm with product support engineer, no more than a minute is not abnormal time.Based on the information available and the testing conducted, the cause of the reported problem was software needs to be upgraded.The reported problem was confirmed the data entered in this complaint record will be utilized for product quality and safety improvements per the post market surveillance and risk management processes.The device was operational after software was upgraded.The device successfully passed all required testing.The device remains at the customer site and no further evaluation is required at this time.If additional information is received the complaint file will be reopened.
