Information was received from a manufacturer representative regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the caller was setting up an ins and handset. The handset time and date were wrong, and when caller connected to the ins it had a default date/time that was wrong (2017).The caller indicated he did not press 'continue' but somehow bypassed the implant date and now is currently wrong.Indicated to caller since the date and time are wrong, that the ins needs to be replaced.Patient is in surgery and needs to get an ins.Sending rep email for sn# of ins to be returned.

Additional information was received from the manufacturer representative (rep). They reported that when they were configuring the battery, it showed the implant date as (b)(6) 2017.They did hit next, and they didn't believe they hit confirm, however, they may have. They were trying to get everything configured before the patient came into the room.Normally that portion was done very quickly since the software and the date are matched up upon packaging. After noticing the battery was set with a implant date of 2017, they called tech services who told them that they needed to send the 2017 configured battery back and grab a new one. They were able to grab a new device. After manually changing the date on the programmer from jan 1, 2017 to december 27, 2022, i configured the new device with the correct implant date. The misconfigured battery was sent back today. The main issue was that the software on the th kit was set to jan 1, 2017 when that programmer hadn¿t even been manufactured at that point. The other issue, was it wasn¿t caught by the rep before it got locked into that date.
