The customer reported that the scope recall remained blocked on another patient who's alarm was over, causing the nurses to miss an alarm for a child that went into respiratory arrest and was desaturating.The child required mechanical ventilation and is doing well.

A philips clinical application specialist (cas) was dispatched to the site.It was determined that the customer was monitoring the patient via an indirect pop up window or scope on the monitor.The cas confirms that the customer did not correctly understand how to utilize the scope for patient monitoring which resulted in the missed alarm.The device was confirmed to be operating per specifications and no failure was identified.
