Event Description
Medtronic received information that 7 days post-implant of this aortic mechanical valve, it was reported that an echocardiogram (echo) performed noted increased aortic gradient (maximum pressure gradient of 55mmhg and mean gradient of 33mmhg) and the patient was hospitalized.It was reported that thrombus was suspected to be present on the valve and echocardiogram performed noted that there was no indication of thrombotic material.It was stated that the gradient regressed in the following days and an unknown treatment was provided.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.

Medtronic received additional information which stated that 7 days post-implant of this aortic mechanical valve, it was reported that an echocardiogram (echo) performed noted an increased aortic mean gradient gradient of 32mmhg.It was stated that the site assessed that the device had a causal relationship with the event.No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
