It was reported that during a clinical study deep brain stimulation (dbs) lead implant procedure, the lead was implanted slightly off target from the intended position, yet it was considered acceptable. After reviewing the post-operative imaging, it was found that the lead was initially implanted too far from the targeted position. There were no stimulation issues as the device had not yet been activated. However, the patient underwent an additional procedure where the lead was correctly repositioned. There were no postoperative complications.
