In speaking with olympus technical assistance center (tac), the customer reported the device was giving a check nbi (narrow band imaging) white balance message, and the nbi message was going on/off on the front panel.Through tac troubleshooting, the customer switched scope switch for nbi to another switch, thinking possibly a scope switch but there was no change; nbi still had the lights on and off.When customer was performing the white balance he was not using white, once he white balanced against white he no longer has the check nbi white balance.Customer has not tried another video scope cable, nor light source cable.Instructed to power off cv-180/clv-180 (evis exera video system center/evis exera ii xenon light source) and reseat the light source cable maj-1411 (light source cable).The scope was replaced and the issued was resolved.The device is not expected to be returned for evaluation.The investigation is ongoing.A supplemental report will be submitted upon completion of the investigation or if any additional information is provided by the user facility.
 
Event Description
The olympus sales specialist reported (on behalf of the customer) what the evis exera ii video system center was giving a check nbi (narrow band imaging) white balance message, and the nbi message was going on/off on the front panel.The issue occurred during preparation for use, the procedure was completed with the same set of equipment, and there was no patient involvement associated with the event.
