Event Description
|
An attempt was made to use one nc sprinter rx ptca balloon catheter to dilate the coronary arteries and improve coronary blood flow. the patient was admitted to the hospital due to an acute anterior wall myocardial infarction.A coronary angiography was performed followed by percutaneous coronary intervention (pci) of the anterior descending artery.It was reported that the balloon burst during post expansion of the stent.When the proximal end of the stent was expanded, the nc sprinter balloon burst at 20 atm.After the balloon was withdrawn, it was found that part of the balloon wall remained at the proximal end of the stent.A new stent was used to cover the balloon fragments.The patient was in a stable condition following the procedure.No further patient injury was reported.
