Event Description
|
During the index procedure one venaseal closure system was used to treat a lesion located in the great saphenous vein 1.Approximately 3 weeks post procedure the patient suffered from a venous ulcer in the left leg.The patient reported that the index ulcer got infected.The patient was prescribed a 7 day course of antibiotics which was completed prior to the patients 30 day follow up visit.It was stated that the infection caused the skin around the index ulcer to be broken resulting in a new and larger ulcer on the index leg.The new ulcer was very obvious on the target and moderately exuded a yellowish fluid.The target limb also appeared more swollen.The patient was commenced on compression dressing.It was stated that the event is related to target limb but not the target vein.The patient has not recovered.
