Event Description
|
An attempt was made to use one 1.5x20mm sprinter legend rx ptca balloon catheter to treat a mildly tortuous, mildly calcification with 100% chronic total occlusion (cto) in the mid right coronary artery (rca). The device was inspected with no issues.Negative prep was not performed. The lesion was pre-dilated.The device did not pass through a previously deployed stent.Resistance was not encountered when advancing the device.Excessive force was not used during delivery. It was reported that a balloon burst, leak or catheter leak occurred during the first balloon inflation at nominal pressure. It was detailed that a non-medtronic wire crossed easily and the sprinter legend balloon also crossed easily.During inflation, a light shadow was visible which indicated leakage. The balloon was replaced with a 2.0x15mm sprinter legend balloon and the procedure was completed smoothly. The patient is alive with no injury.
