Event Description
Information was received from a patient with an implanted neurostimulator (ins) for urinary dysfunction/sacral nerve stim and gastrointestinal/pelvic floor therapy. It was reported that over the weekend the patient noticed that they were feeling bloated and their bladder wasn't emptying like it should.Patient also said they are not able to feel any stimulation and they knew something was wrong.Patient said they typically feel stimulation in their vagina and can feel it when they move to certain positions sometimes but haven't been feeling it.Patient also stated that they noticed they were having a hard time getting the urine out of their body, rather than before this weekend when they said their urine usually comes out pretty fast.Patient said a month ago they went to the hcp and found only 80ccs of urine in their bladder but when they recently saw their hcp they found 1000ccs.Agent helped patient successfully connect external devices to ins and patient increased stim to a comfortable level.Offered to show patient how to find communicator battery levels but patient declined saying they didn't want to do anything to change the settings.Patient said they were doing so well with their therapy up until now and wondered why they could no longer feel stim and why they could increase stim higher to feel it.Agent reviewed stim sensation vs therapy relief and general therapy guidelines.Patient will monitor symptoms.Patient mentioned they were on a therapy cycle but now have the ins stimulating 24 hours.
