It was reported that the deep brain stimulation (dbs) patient experienced moderate to severe pain due to a return of their parkinsons disease symptoms. It was confirmed that the patient received the end of life (eol) message on their remote control resulting in a loss of stimulation.Additionally, it was confirmed that the patient had used high rate stimulation settings prior to the loss of therapy. Therefore, the patient underwent an implantable pulse generator (ipg) revision procedure during which the ipg was explanted and replaced. The patient has fully recovered and is doing well postoperatively. The explanted ipg will not be returned as it was retained by the customer.
