Event Description
|
It was reported that the deep brain stimulation (dbs) patient experienced inadequate therapy from the stimulation despite multiple reprogramming attempts. It was assessed that the corresponding lead was implanted too deep relative to the target anatomy.Additionally, there was a high impedance discovered on the first contact of the lead located in the right brain hemisphere. Therefore, the patient underwent an explant procedure during which the dbs system was removed. The explanted devices will not be returned as they were retained by the medical facility. The were no reported patient complications postoperatively.
