Event Description
|
Information was received from multiple sources (manufacturer representative, healthcare provider) regarding a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for unknown indications for use.It was reported that during dental care, ultrasonic surfacing.Patient also had headaches during dental care.The following day, patient had electric shocks in the area where the device was located.The device is turned off.The device was checked by the physician and showed impedances 4000 ohms.It was noted that patient did not turn off the device during their dental care visit.

Additional information was received.The manufacturer representative (rep) reported cause was unknown, but the hypothesis is that dental care caused the symptoms.The device has been turned off.The ins is still implanted.They are waiting on a reply from the healthcare professional (hcp).
