It was reported that the burr detached. The target lesion was located in a mildly tortuous and moderately calcified right coronary artery (rca).A 1.50mm rotapro was prepared and attempted to be inserted, but the wire moved distally because the brake was not defeated while the burr was spinning upon advancing into the guide (due to improper technique).Subsequently, the rotapro was removed and a non- boston scientific atherectomy device was attempted but it also had difficulty. Then, the same burr was selected to be attempted again. However, while platforming to 170k rpm, the burr separated from the drive shaft while on the rotawire outside the patient. The burr was then taken off the wire and the case were rescheduled for a later day. There were no patient complications reported.
