The patient was undergoing a thrombectomy procedure in the right coronary artery using an indigo system catrx aspiration catheter (catrx), a non-penumbra sheath, and a guidewire (0.014 inch).During the procedure, the physician introduced the catrx into the patient and experienced resistance while advancing the catrx during the first pass.Subsequently, the physician observed via fluoroscopy that the catrx was fractured. The catrx was then retracted from the patient. The procedure was completed using a new catrx and the same sheath. There was no report of an adverse effect to the patient.
