Event Description
During ablation of the roof line, a pericardial effusion occurred requiring a pericardiocentesis.The shape of the catheter was out of the geometry for 2 seconds and an increase of impedance occurred at the same time (from 90 ohm to 175ohm).The patients blood pressure then dropped from 12.6 to 4.An echography was performed which revealed a pericardial effusion on the roof of the left atrium for which a pericardiocentesis was performed to stabilize the patient.There were no performance issues with any abbott devices.

Additional information: g3, h2, h3.The results of the investigation are inconclusive since the device was not returned for analysis.The device history record was reviewed to ensure that each manufacturing and inspection operation was performed.Based on the information received, the cause of the reported effusion remains unknown.Per the ifu, cardiac perforation is a known risk during the use of this device.
