Event Description
It was reported the patient presented for implant procedure.During surgery, it was discovered the insertable cardiac monitor (icm) exhibited premature battery depletion and could not be interrogated.The physician elected to complete the procedure with a different icm.The patient was in stable condition.

A device history record (dhr) review was performed and all required manufacturing processes and inspections steps were confirmed to be completed per the requirements.The device met specifications prior to leaving abbott manufacturing facilities.The reported event of failure to interrogate and premature discharge of battery were not confirmed.The device was above elective replacement indicator (eri) upon receipt.Device arrived able to interrogate and no warning message was noted.Analysis of device indicated that device was within normal range of operation.Further analysis performed showed normal device characteristics.Longevity assessment was performed, and device was in the normal range of operation with appropriate remaining longevity.
