Event Description

Medtronic received information regarding a navigation system being used during a functional endoscopic sinus surgery (fess) procedure.It was reported that during a procedure, the accuracy metric was 0.5 for registration, and the surgeon felt accurate immediately after registration.Later in the procedure, the surgeon felt off by 5mm with the 90 degree and straight suction.Inaccuracy was noted in the maxillary sinus and on the nasal floor.The procedure was continued, accounting for the inaccuracy.There was no impact on patient outcome and the issue caused no delay.
