Philips received a complaint from customer biomed reporting the v60 ventilator powers on without user command. The device was not in clinical use. There was no report of patient or user harm. The device was removed from service.A philips remote service engineer (rse) evaluated the issue with the biomed engineer (bme). The bme reported the device powered on by itself. The rse advised the bme of the manufacturer recommendation per the v60 service manual, which included replacement of the power switch overlay and the user interface (ui) printed circuit board assembly (pcba). The bme requested part details for each. The bme confirmed the recommended parts, the ui pcba and the power switch overlay, were replaced. No further details were provided. The device was operational after repairs were completed. The investigation concludes that no further action is required at this time.If additional information is received the complaint file will be reopened.
