Event Description
It was reported that the wire guide from a cook spectrum minocycline/rifampin impregnated triple lumen central venous catheter set kinked.When the wire guide was advanced into the patient, resistance was felt.The wire was removed, and kinking was noted.A new device set was obtained to complete the procedure.It was noted the patient did not have any tortuous anatomy.As reported, the patient did not experience any adverse effects or require any additional procedures due to this occurrence.Upon receipt of the complaint device, unravelling of the wire guide was observed, thus prompting this report.
