It was reported that positioning difficulty and stent foreshortening occurred. The patient was being treated for claudication and underwent lower left extremity angiogram. The 95% stenosed target lesion with no significant bend was located in the non-tortuous and moderately calcified proximal superficial femoral artery.A 7 x 60 x 75 innova vascular stent was advanced for treatment and was deployed via antegrade approach. However, during deployment, the stent jumped distally and did not land on the target lesion and was foreshortened. It was suspected that the shaft of the partially deployed stent was still in the sheath when the sheath was pulled back causing the stent to lurch forward.A secondary 7 x 80 stent was required to complete the procedure. The patient was fully recovered.
