Event Description
It was reported that the right atrial (ra) lead exhibited lead failure.Lead impedance was undefined and high with no sensing or pacing. The lead was fractured near superior vena cava (svc). It was also reported that disconnection was observed between the implantable pulse generator (ipg) and the ra lead.Hospitalization was required due to the event. The lead was programmed off.It was further reported that the stylet exhibited resistance near the svc.The lead was fixed at the tip by traction and could not be removed and hence was left in the patient.A new lead was added. The ipg was explanted and replaced. No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
