Event Description

It was reported that during a cryo ablation procedure, there was an acute drop in the patient's blood pressure.Intracardiac echocar diography (ice) was utilized and pericardial effusion was observed.The procedure was aborted while the patient was under general anesthesia.A pericardiocentesis was performed, but the patient became increasingly hemodynamically unstable.An emergency sternotomy and surgical repair were subsequently performed.The patient was stabilized and transferred to the intensive care unit (icu).No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
