A valiant captivia stent graft (b)(6) was implanted during the endovascular treatment of a penetrating thoracic aortic ulcer. It was confirmed that the patient did not have any signs of infection and was eligible for surgery. It was reported 10 days post-operatively , the patient experienced fever symptoms without apparent triggers.Due to the possibility of stent infection and the potential spread of the patient's pulmonary infection, the patient received anti-infective treatment. It was not clear what the source of the infection was.Although the anti-infective treatment controlled the fever symptoms, they recurred, leading to the patient's hospitalization over three months post the index procedure. The patient received further anti-infective treatment while being hospitalized.Per the physician the cause of the fever was suspected to be due to the patients own reasons. It was said there were many possible causes of infection and it could not be ruled out that the infection may have been caused by a pre-existing disease. No additional clinical sequalae were provided and the patient will be monitored.
