Device evaluated by mfr: the complaint device was received for product analysis.A visual inspection was performed and it was observed that the body of the guidewire was kinked.Microscopic inspection of the device was performed and revealed that only half of the guidewire was returned, the remaining portion of the device, including the spring tip section, was found detached.No other issues were found.
 
Event Description
Reportable based on device analysis completed on 06feb2024.It was reported that the guidewire failed to function.A rotawire drive was selected for use.However, it was noted that this device failed to function.No patient complications were reported.However, device analysis revealed that the spring tip section of the guidewire was found detached.
