Event Description
It was reported that during a cryo ablation procedure, there was some difficulty with groin access.The integrated dilator/needle was repositioned twice in the superior vena cava (svc) to get the correct alignment on the septum.The transseptal puncture was completed successfully.The case proceeded without incident and all the pulmonary veins were ablated.The case was completed with cryo.The patient was sent to recovery and was recovering as expected.The patient developed severe aphasia 2.5 hours after the case was completed.The patient was diagnosed with a cerebrovascular accident (cva).The patient received tissue-type plasminogen activator (tpa) for the cva.No further patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.Additional information was received that the patient's hospitalization was extended.The patient has fully recovered and was discharged.
