It was reported that the deep brain stimulation (dbs) patient became weak and unresponsive during a dbs procedure.The dbs lead was left inside the patients head and the procedure was aborted.A computed tomography (ct) scan was performed and revealed the patient had an ischemic stroke, which was not due to the dbs procedure.As a result, the patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (icu).A week after the procedure, the patient passed away due to complications from the stroke and pneumonia, which were not device or procedure-related.
