Event Description
It was reported that after the stereotactic head frame was applied and the patient was positioned for surgery his oxygen saturation dropped into the lower 80s and the anesthesiologist became concerned with his breathing status.The patient's breathing tube was repositioned, and he was administered supplemental oxygen.After several minutes his levels returned to normal.The physician decided to abort the deep brain stimulation (dbs) implant procedure due to the patient's history of asthma and copd.The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit (icu) for monitoring and was discharged the following day.
