A peritoneal dialysis (pd) patient experienced a breach in aseptic technique which resulted in peritonitis.The breach in aseptic technique was not further described.The peritonitis was manifested by cloudy pd effluent and abdominal pain.The same day as the event onset, the patient was hospitalized due to cloudy pd effluent and peritonitis.On an unknown date, the patient was treated with vancomycin injection (1gm, intraperitoneal, once daily, ongoing), ceftazidime injection (500mg, intraperitoneal, once daily, ongoing) and amikacin injection (100mg, intraperitoneal, once daily, ongoing) for peritonitis.Eight days after event onset, the patient was discharged from the hospital and recovered from the events.Pd therapy was ongoing.The patient was retrained on the proper aseptic technique.No additional information is available.
