Event Description
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urinary dysfunction/sacral nerve stim and gastrointestinal/pelvic floor therapy. It was reported that they had not used the programmer in a couple of weeks. Before going to bed on friday night or saturday night they increased stimulation about 8 points.Patient said that was way too much so they dropped it down a couple and it felt good until they lay down to go to sleep and started getting sharp, stabbing pains in the rib cage and all over the place.Patient wanted to turn the stimulation down some more but was having difficulty getting the handset to connect to the communicator. No troubleshooting was necessary as during the call the patient was able connect normally and decrease the stimulation. It was not clear if the issue was fully resolved as the the patient indicated the sharp pains were intermittent.
