Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for failed back surgery syndrome leg/back and spinal pain indications.The reason for call was caller reported that the implant won't charge even when using a back brace to hold the recharger and holding by hand in place - controller will show "device not found." agent had pt inspect for damage and pt saw no visible damage to the recharger or controller port.Pt then mentioned after being implanted, the implant went out of place sliding upwards, twisted, and bulging out to where they can see it.Pt needed to get mri but cannot since implant is not able to charge.Pt stated the last time they were successfully able to charge the implant was the beginning of january.Agent had pt try to charge implant and pt entered passive recharge- pt was able to advance and saw controller at 60% and implant in red recharging excellent.Agent reviewed with pt they can enter mri mode on the controller once implant is charged.Agent also provided national answering service (nas) number for healthcare provider (hcp) and reviewed role of a manufacturer representative (rep).Agent redirected to hcp to further address implant placement.
