Event Description
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urinary/bowel dysfunction and urge incontinence. It was reported that since implant, they are still wearing the same amount of diapers especially at night but "this one's working", they are now able to sleep, they are ecstatic about that.Pt said they were calling today because: yesterday when they noticed their urinary function was worse and they used their handset to synch with their ins and it showed 3 but they expected it to show 3.4.Pt said they raised it to 3.5 and that resolved their symptoms.During the call pt synched their equipment with their ins and confirmed it was still 3.5 today.Pss reviewed that a change to the amplitude number is not expected and recommended they report the issue to their doctor.Patient reported their incision was checked after the surgery but the assistant did not know anything about the settings.Pt said they don't have a follow-up appointment with their managing doctor for 3 months.Reviewed interstim therapy optimization information, control equipment general use and function and recommended keeping a symptom diary to track results.Redirected to their doctor.
