It was reported that leak at the tip occurred, and balloon could not hold pressure.The target lesion was located in the internal carotid artery.A 6.0mmx30mmx135cm (4f) sterling balloon catheter was advanced for post dilatation during carotid artery stent placement.The pressure was increased to nominal using a pta balloon indeflator.However, the balloon slowly deflated, and the contrast agent appeared to leak out of the balloon.The pressure was reduced and then it was increased again, the pressurized state could not be maintained, and the contrast agent appeared to leak from the tip of the balloon.The procedure was completed with another of the same device.No patient complications were reported.
