Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient (pt) who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urinary/bowel dysfunction and urge incontinence. It was reported that they had their first stimulator removed because the incision did not heal, since implant.Pt said, it did not get infected, it just did not heal and was going to fall out, finally it opened up and they could see inside, they went back to the doctor who said they could not sew them up anymore when it was removed and a new one was put on the other side it had to heal from the inside out.Pt was calling medtronic today for assistance to learn to use mri mode.Pt said while they were in the hospital they wanted to do an mri and the nurses took care of it.Pt got their external equipment but said they have never charged it and when pt pushed the power button on the communicator the battery light was orange-too low.Pt found the cords and plugged both devices in.The handset was 1 percent.Offered and sent email with mri steps and quick guide.Reviewed once the equipment was charged enough they can call back.Redirected to their doctor.
