Event Description
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for urge incontinence, urinary/bowel dysfunction.It was reported that patient has been trying to get the stimulator to work for about a week and a half to two weeks.When they try to adjust it a little bit it pops up end of service therapy has stopped replace the internal device to continue therapy.His doctor was leaving.Patient called the representative and the representative is out of st.Louis and she couldn't find anyone in southern illinois that he could talk to or anybody like that.The stimulator has not been functioning real good.It worked for a month or two and then off and on it seems like it drops and they have to recalibrate it and then it drops again.Patient has medicare and didn't know it was considered and elective surgery and medicare doesn't cover it.Patient is paying $300 a month for a device that is not working.Patient doesn't want to go back to surgery.Patient has a kidney that has been removed.Provided caller with doctor listing.Sent message to patient relations.
