It was reported that the patient experienced communication difficulties and loss of stimulation from their deep brain stimulation (dbs) device.Several attempts to establish communication with implantable pulse generator (ipg) were made, however, were unsuccessful.The physicians assessment was the ipg battery depleted, however no database analysis was ever submitted and it was noted that electrocautery was used during revision.The patient underwent a procedure where the ipg was replaced with another of a different model.The patient did well post-operatively.
