Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for unknown indications for use.It was reported that the patient doesn't believe the device is working properly, and the doctor suggested that when they connect, they do not feel the stimulation cycling through. They used to be able to feel it when connected to the device. The patient said she had a medical procedure with a cauterizing machine and forgot to turn the interstim off.The procedure was in the area of the stimulator, and she thinks it was about a month ago.The patient met with her urologist, who suggested she try a different program because their symptoms changed a little bit.In february, i changed the program and couldn't feel anything. They increased the stimulation and felt something about the program. Now when they connect again, they can't feel that cycle through and are not feeling the stimulation at 0.9 volts.Pat agent asked if patient is having return of symptoms and they said no.They have made a tremendous amount of improvement but have never had 100% relief.Agent had patient change to a different program, try connecting and see if she felt the stimulation cycle through.Patient said, they do not feel the stimulation cycle through but feels the stimulation when increases the amplitude. The issue was not resolved through troubleshooting.I had the agent change back to the program she was on.I told the patient that as long as she doesn't have a return of symptoms, she wouldn't be worried about not feeling the cycling through of the stimulation.
