Event Description
|
Information was received from a patient who was implanted with an implantable neurostimulator (ins) for gastrointestinal/ pelvic floor and urinary dysfunction/sacral nerve stim.The reason for call was patient reported not being able to connect to the implanted neurostimulator with the communicator.Patient reported the last time they charged was a few days ago however they forgot to turn it back on so therapy isn't working.During the call, patient was able to successfully connect to implant however received por message which patient cleared however received message that implanted battery is low.Patient disconnected, turned communicator off and then turned the recharger on and placed over implant site however when turned on the recharger app, received the message that the recharger is low and needs to be charged.Patient will charge the charger and then attempt to charge the implant.Patient to call back tomorrow if still needs assistance.Additional information received indicated that while started recharge session patient mentioned that sometimes feels like a stinging sensation when recharges.Patient described as a burning sensation.Reviewed recommendation to place cloth barrier between recharger and implant.Patient said will try the next time recharges.

Additional information was received from the patient.The cause of the burning sensation when recharging was not determined.The patient stated that the rep staid to attempt to center the recharger over the device.It is unknown whether the issue has been resolved.It was undetermined if the burning sensation was resolved by reducing the recharge speed.
