Event Description
|
Philips received a complaint by the hospital mechanical engineer (me) on the v60 indicating that while in use on a patient, the device had check vent alarm that occurred, and the unit restarted up on its own.The device continued to be used. There was no harm to the patient or user. The device was swapped out with a same model device. There was neither delay in therapy nor medical intervention reported due to the event other than the ventilator swap. The authorized service provider (asp) evaluated the device and could not confirm, the reported issue was not duplicated.Since it was confirmed in the event log that the alarm this time did not need to be addressed, repair was not performed. The device passed required performance verification tests per philips standards and was returned to service. The investigation concludes that no further action is required at this time.
