It was reported to boston scientific corporation that an rx cytology brush was used in the common bile duct during an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ercp) procedure performed on (b)(6) 2014.According to the complainant, during the procedure, the brush was stuck; it was not able to extend and retract.The brush appeared bent and was poking through the side of the catheter.The brush was removed from the scope and the procedure was completed with another rx cytology brush.There were no patient complications reported as a result of this event.The patient's condition at the conclusion of the procedure was reported to be fine.
