It was reported that the patient had vns generator and lead explant surgery on (b)(6) 2013 due to infection.The treating hospital reported that the infection was due to the implant procedure and not the device.

Device manufacturing history records were reviewed.Review of the manufacturing records (dhr) confirmed sterilization for both the generator and lead prior to distribution.
