Event Description
Customer reported a popping sound and smoke from the unit.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
Customer reported hearing a popping sound and then saw smoke coming from instrument and they powered it off.No one from lab was injured and no damage was done from the smoke as operator quickly powered off instrument.There were no reports or evidence of injuries, visible flames, and the fire department was not called.An iris fse confirmed power supply inoperable and replaced the damaged power supply.There was evidence of charring within the unit based on the fse assessment.Fse completed velocity performance verification checklist; ran controls: passed; customer ran specimens without any issues.System was operational.
